How to Measure for Apparel
When shopping for clothing online, knowing your measurements ensures you select the perfect size without the need for trying on. With various fits for different styles, we’ve provided a size chart and instructions for measuring key areas of your body:
- Chest/Bust: Keep the tape parallel to the floor and measure around the fullest part of your chest or bust. This measurement is used for tops and dresses.
- Hips: Measure the fullest part of your hips while standing with your feet together. Be sure to include the fullest part of your buttocks.
- Inseam: Measure from the crotch to the inside seam of the leg using your best-fitting pair of pants. It’s recommended to wear shoes to ensure the length is accurate for you. Measure to the nearest half-inch.
- Neck: For U.S. dress shirts, neck measurements are taken in inches. Wrap the tape around your Adam’s apple, ensuring the tape stays level all the way around your neck.
By following these instructions, you can confidently find your size and enjoy a perfect fit. Compare your body measurements to the provided size chart to determine your ideal size. If your measurements fall between two sizes, consider the following:
- For a looser fit, select the larger size.
- For a tighter fit, opt for the smaller size.
Important Note:
When purchasing outerwear such as coats or jackets, if your measurements are between sizes, we strongly recommend choosing the larger size for optimal comfort.
